Humpty Dumpty


Many of us, when going shopping for groceries need to get eggs. I
know by watching people when they are getting eggs, will most often
open each cartoon and look at each egg. They will then either put
that carton in their cart, or back in the bin with the eggs and look
at another carton. Of course, we know they are looking for broken
eggs. This reminds me of something.

We all know that poem....

Humpty Dumpty sat on a wall,
Humpty Dumpty had a great fall.
All the king's horses,
And all the king's men,
Couldn't put Humpty together again.

Most of us have dropped an egg before. We know that it SHATTERS.

Many of us have seen what happens when a hard object hits our window
be it in our home or our car. The window also shatters.

When something is shattered, it can not serve its intended purpose.
For material things, it may be a simple matter of replacing the
object, but what if the shattered object is not inanimate?

We have seen animals that had been abused. They do not trust humans.
They will flee from them as a means of self preservation even if it
means fleeing from one that would adopt them and love and care for
them.

Now, what if the Shattered thing....is HUMAN?

Last Sunday in our chat, we did have a shattered person attend. She
made it known to me that she would do her best to make sure we did
not invite her again, that she would do her best to prove us wrong
that we could not love HER .......unconditionally.

God put those in that chat that needed to be there. Those that could
love unconditionally, those that although they did not say much,
prayed much. As a result, our new friend found out she was wrong. Not
only did we show love but the very next day, several of those in the
chat met this precious woman in chat again. At first she could not
remember where she knew any of us from as all hell was trying to make
her forget, but all heaven was reminding her of this all to rare
commodity...UNCONDITIONAL LOVE.... and we could see the shell
breaking.

We also talked to a small child who was told that Jesus hated
children and would hurt them. You see, satan will tell us anything to
keep us from knowing the real Jesus. He tells us that God is always
waiting for us to do something wrong so He can punish us, that He can
not love us until we clean up and make ourselves presentable to HIM.
Well my friend, we can NEVER make ourselves presentable to God. HE
tells us to come...just as we are!

But back to Beth...Beth did not want to meet Jesus as she was afraid
of Him. Therefore I changed the picture in one of my groups to this...

I wanted her to see the real Jesus. A man that really loves children.

A few moments later, Beth asked Jesus to save her. Teri did a short
time later.

What does all this have to do with Humpty Dumpty?

Well, we have all been Shattered in one way or another. Most of those
in my major group have been Shattered to a point they can not serve
their purpose BUT lets look at the poem again...

Humpty Dumpty sat on a wall,
Humpty Dumpty had a great fall.
All the king's horses,
And all the king's men,
Couldn't put Humpty together again.

Often the wall we sit on is a wall of pride. A wall that we can do it
OUR way...that we do not need anyone else and especially not God

Proverbs 13:10 Only by pride cometh contention: but with the well
advised is wisdom.

Proverbs 30:33 Surely the churning of milk bringeth forth butter, and
the wringing of the nose bringeth forth blood: so the forcing of
wrath bringeth forth strife.

When this happens, we will fall.

Pr 16:18 Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before
a fall.

Often we insist on proven ourselves right no matter what it cost and
often the cost is more Shattered lives.

1 Corinthians 6:7 Now therefore there is utterly a fault among you,
because ye go to law one with another. Why do ye not rather take
wrong? why do ye not rather suffer yourselves to be defrauded?

When this happens, we often go to all the wrong people to get help.
We go to all the kings horses and all the kings men. We go to
friends, neighbors, counselors, doctors, ministers, priest but NONE
Of these will work.....unless we go to the KING.

You see my friend, that is the one thing missing in this poem. Humpty
did not go to the KING. Oh God often uses His people to help mend
Shattered men and Shattered women. We are told that when HE mends us,
we are then to go help mend others.

2 Corinthians 1
3 Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the
Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort;
4 Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to
comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we
ourselves are comforted of God.

My friend, do you have a Shattered heart? Shattered dreams, Shattered
relationships? You many even have a Shattered body from wrong
choices. Come to JESUS today my friend.

The Sign!

The sign above was made by brother in law used a router. This was about 6 months after Shattered Men was founded. At that time, my wife as not as supportive and we had a major argument. My wife was doing yard work and was burning twigs and leaves in the yard (we have 5 acres so there were a lot of it) You guessed it. I got mad and threw that sign in the fire. There were actual flames all around it. I left that sign there for a couple of hours. It was still there...just like the three Hebrew Children in the furnace except this sign was slightly charred...just enough evidence that it was in the fire...but it was INTACT.

That was on a Sunday and we had chat on that night. I was to lead it. I started out saying that I did not want to be there BUT.... Then explained what happened...and believe me...GOD got my attention regarding Shattered Men. He let me know
with that sign which should have ignited within moments, that Shattered Men was NOT mine...it was HIS!

I did confess in chat that night that I sinned against GOD, and I sinned against my wife and my brother in law. I also told them that I knew that the gates of hell would not prevail against this ministry...GOD's ministry.

Since this time, Shattered Men has been under attack many times. Some have sought to water it down. Some wanted it to be "less Christian" Others wanted it to be gender neutral. It was the ladies in Shattered Men that replied to hold the line...to keep it focused on men. These precious ladies posted on the message board that they...the women did have other places to get help, but the men would have no where to go at least from a Biblical prospective. Some have sought to even destroy it. Several have come to chat to proclaim this aim. Most of these are now serving the LORD. One hacker contacted me to tell me she was offered money to hack into my pc to destroy it and wanted to know if I would "up the offer" and she would destroy the pc of those who wanted mine destroyed. I told her that even if she offered to do it for free, I would say NO....Vengeance belongs to GOD and IF HE wanted their pc destroyed, HE could do it without my help.

The Bible tells us that when we do things HIS way, it will seldom be popular. I have found that even in our churches, talking about any abuse is taboo. Talking about men is just about treated as a cardinal sin.

How can you help?

1: PRAY for this ministry and it's leaders. We need prayer warriors that will intercede for this ministry and those that need it more then anything else.

2: JOIN Shattered Men. One need not have been abused to be a member of this ministry. One only needs to care about those that were. Normally I would say that "numbers" in our Christian groups are not as important as substance. Numbers are however more important to this ministry because the more that are members, the more it does show that the problem exist and that people care.

3: TELL others about this ministry. We can not help those that do not know about it. My friend, well over a dozen men and women are alive today because they found....Shattered Men. Help us keep more alive because they find that someone...DOES care about them. We have business cards available on this site which you can print off (on cardboard stock) and cut out to hand out to your pastor and others to inform them about Shattered Men. You can also IM or e-mail someone that you think needs this ministry and tell them about it. Just use this link: http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/shattterdmen/ and tell them to click "join now" in the top right corner. If you are not a member, we would love for you to do this now too. It is an active group so we do suggest electing "no e-mail" when given the option and then going to the group to read the messages.

Again, you need not have been abused, to be a part. Just caring about those who have been is enough.

4: WRITE: Write to your Senator, Representative (both national and state) and inform them you do want equal justice and that there is no help for half the victims of abuse. Write a letter to the editor of your newspaper whenever you see a one sided story on these issues and ask that they do ask the other side for their input on it.

5: REFER: If someone (man or woman) talks to you saying they were or are being abused, Listen to them, validate them and then refer them to Shattered Men.

6: PRAY Yes, I know that was the number one answer but I have repeated it BECAUSE...it IS the NUMBER ONE NEED!
